Make a reservation since they get booked up quick. - Oysters 5/5 These oysters are soooo fresh and delicious. [RECOMMEND] - Beef Tongue 2.1/5 Thick and over cooked, they were quite chewy. Tastes good though. - Cartilage 1.9/5 Chewy..... no taste really. - Chicken thigh w/ green onion 5/5 So juicy and delicious! Perfectly grilled with the green onion. [RECOMMEND] - Sushi Omakase 3.7/5 For the price definitely no. The cuts of fish were good but they were all so fatty/oily. And some kind of truffle on salmon? Caviar and gold flakes on toro? The best piece was the scallop. Better off getting one of their tasty bowls. Valet parking $7 with validation.

This is the best sushi spot in the universe. Our server was the best. He was informed, and easily guides us through all of those specialties and unique dishes. One thing he said that all the fish is flown in fresh everyday. Every dish was handcrafted, fresh, tasty and beautiful! If you want an experience and not just a humdrum roll give this place a chance. I would highly recommend the Miso Eggplant and the skewers of Sea Bass. The Sea Bass was S O G O O D we ate it too fast and I didn't get to take a picture, but trust me it's remarkable!

I recently visited Izakaya Osen in LA and had a wonderful dining experience. The menu offered a delightful variety of dishes, and each one exceeded my expectations. We ordered miso crab salmon, seabass rice hot pot, a couple skewers, mini octopus karaage, and a few nigiri. The flavors were on point with each dish. The miso crab salmon was a perfect blend of savory and sweet, while the seabass rice hot pot was rich and comforting. The skewers were grilled to perfection, and the baby octopus karaage was crispy and tender. The nigiri was fresh and melted in the mouth, showcasing the quality of the fish. Overall, the food was excellent, and we left feeling fully satisfied. Izakaya Osen offers a fantastic culinary experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal in LA.

Gets pretty busy so call for a reservation! Izakaya Osen is well known, and well marketed. They have a really nice close knit Japanese feel and wood is a very prominent decor for Japanese dining. Ordered some skewers, omakase, and a sake. Everything is more on the expensive side which I'm sure any diner here should be expecting. Not a very big fan of the omakase "set" as it pushes you to have to eat fast so the fish doesn't sit for very long. With that in mind a traditional omakase is preferred in my opinion. The fish was definitely fresh, and my favorites were the uni and sweet shrimp!!! Tasted like both were just taken from the ocean minutes before! I know it's not for everyone but I hope this changes your mind! Overall for the expense I think I would go to another place, but Izakaya Osen was definitely not bad.

All I can say is I was super impressed and am still thinking about all of these dishes to this very day. My friends and I decided to make a reservation here, which was super easy. Getting here was a but of a struggle, especially finding parking, but we decided to just shell out a little bit to do valet right in front. Seating was plentiful, and we got a nice table indoors, but there's bar seating and an outdoor patio! The menu was expansive and these were the dishes we got: Miso salmon, creamy nagasaki nave, agedashi tofu, shishito peppers, chicken karaage, and the Maguro Kajime roll. All of this was super high quality, from the richness of the nabe broth to the flavors from the sushi roll. My personal favorite that night was the salmon. It was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. We shared it as a group, but that is perfect for an individual dinner. The service was also excellent, with our server checking on us often, and offering us refills on our waters. Overall, this was a great dinner experience, and we'll certainly be back to try the other locations.

Here's a hot take, I'm not really one for gimmicks, like edible gold, dry ice, lighting things on fire, you know the biz. I know, seems VERY contradictory for me, but sometimes one just appreciates the simple things in life, like high quality sushi with no frills. My personal favorite to get said sushi is Izakaya Osen in Silverlake. Thiccc slices of fresh fish that are already perfectly dressed, and signature rolls that are bursting with flavor. You know me, I had to add a little bit of spice to my meal, and tried the A5 wagyu hamburg steak that came on a sizzling plate! Thanks for reading! ^-^

Izakaya Osen is where I go for special occasions because we usually order the good stuff and this time was no exception. We ordered the premium chirashi which comes with an eclectic assortment of high-quality fish in a beautifully arranged bento box. If that's too much for one meal, then I would highly suggest the toro uni don. The quality of the tuna belly is amazing. It's fatty in a good way and creamy from the uni. It comes with seaweed so you can make mini rolls but we enjoyed it on its own because the seaweed flavor was overpowering. I actually didn't want the creamy nagasaki udon nabe but the pork base soup with chili oil was addicting. It was hearty but in a light refreshing way. As appetizers, we ordered 3 skewers: beef tongue, chicken tail, and chicken cartilage. They weren't bad but they weren't outstanding either. We went during the week at an off-time so it was pretty empty and funnily enough, we sat in the same seat as our previous visit. There's valet parking but also street parking if you're up for the search.

I came here for dinner with my friend and really enjoyed it! It's a relatively smaller restaurant but we came at 5 PM so there was a good amount of space. For the quality of what we got, we felt that the price wasn't too high. We shared everything so that we could try more stuff. We got the Pork Belly Kushiyaki (just a heads up that they come with 1 stick only), Toro Uni Bowl (this comes with seaweed to make basically your own hand roll and was sooo yummy), Miso Glazed Eggplant and Creamy Nagasaki Udon Nabe (the flavor was delicious and so soothing).
